- What is a sponsored Record?
- A sponsored Record is the obituary or death notice which an individual pays to have archived in the National Hall of Records for perpetuity. The Record can include an official obituary, photographs, Lasting Tributes, and Guest Book entries.
- Who can sponsor a Record?
- Anyone can sponsor a Record. After sponsorship is established, a family member or close friend should be appointed as the Administrator of the Record.
- What is the cost of sponsoring a Record?
- You can sponsor a permanent Record for a one time fee of just $295.00.
- How do I sponsor a Record?
- To sponsor a Record, search the database for the death notice for your friend or loved one. Once you have found that record, click on the first or last name, then click the Sponsor This Record link. Fill out the information and your Record is ready.
- What is an Administrator?
- The Administrator is usually a relative or close friend of the deceased. The Administrator reviews information posted to the Record, including photographs, Guest Book entries, and Lasting Tributes. You will receive an email notifying you when someone posts a new entry to your Record. The Administrator can also remove any inappropriate postings.
- Can I both sponsor the Record and be the Administrator?
- Yes. Many people are both the Sponsor and the Administrator, although it is not required.
- What is a Guest Book?
- A Guest Book is a journal created by family and friends. They leave their thoughts, condolences, memories, prayers, etc.
- Who can sign the Guest Book?
- Anyone with a valid email address can sign the Guest Book and add their condolences, memories, thoughts, and prayers for the deceased and their family.
- What is a Lasting Tribute?
- A Lasting Tribute is a way to honor the life of the deceased. Family and friends can upload their favorite photographs, add their cherished memories, and even select background music that can be played while others view their Lasting Tribute.
- Does it cost anything to make a Lasting Tribute?
- No. Once the Record is sponsored, there is no cost for any of the various entries that can be made.
- What is required to create a Lasting Tribute?
- You must have a valid email address to create a Lasting Tribute.
- How long does it take to create a Lasting Tribute?
- The process of creating a Lasting Tribute is not difficult. You can create a Lasting Tribute within a couple of minutes by adding your favorite photographs of the deceased and selecting music to be played when others view the Lasting Tribute.
- When will my Lasting Tribute, my photographs or the Guest Book be viewable online?
- The Lasting Tribute and entries in the Guest Book will be viewable immediately after it is created.

- What happens if I want to cancel the Lasting Tribute, Photographs or Guest Book entry?

- Is there anything that is not allowed in a Lasting Tribute or Guest Book?
- Lasting Tributes and entries in Guest Books may not contain any language which is hateful, threatening, vulgar, or profanity, and no photographs with nudity or offensive material are allowed. Lasting Tributes or Guest Book entries that contain any of these items will be removed or edited without warning. Anyone submitting material deemed inappropriate will risk cancellation of their login privileges.
