James Lee "Pig" Wilson 52, long time resident of Bristow passed away Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009 in the Bristow Memorial Hospital. James was born on August 14th, 1956, in Orange Texas to the late Thomas Henry Wilson, and Myrtle Curtis. He was the baby of eight boys. He moved to Bristow, OK as a young child and was a 1975 graduate of Depew High School. He joined the military after graduating. While in the military, he traveled to Germany, Korea, and many parts of the U.S. with his wife Bethany and son Lee, and served in the U.S Army until 1992. James was a proud member of the U.S. Army. He was always a very outgoing and active member of his community wherever he lived. He was a good friend to all, and a wonderful husband and father. He was an excellent bowler, and loved to golf. While in the military, he played semi-pro football on a German-American Football league. He loved sporting events, and loved to host family gatherings. He cared deeply for his family and was always there for each and every member. He loved working with youth, coaching and mentoring. He enjoyed coaching young athletes in basketball, football, and baseball. In 2008 he coached for AAU Tulsa Titans. He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Bristow, Oklahoma. James was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Malcom Johnson, and an unnamed infant. He is survived by his wife Bethany Wilson, his son Lee Wilson of Utah, his son Kiantae Wilson of Bristow, OK, Kiantae's sister Nikia Redeau of Bristow OK. James is survived by five brothers: Thomas A. Johnson and Timothy Johnson both of Los Angeles, CA, Charles Smith of Houston, TX, Isaac Johnson of FL, and Henry D. Wilson of Chicago, IL. James is survived by his Aunt Audry Smith of Los Angeles, CA, and Uncle Tommy Curtis of Austin, TX. He is also survived by numerous wonderful cousins of the original "Curtis Family". James is also survived by Ms. Angie Cooper, mother of Kiantae Wilson and Nikia Redeau, and long-time, close friend Jonny Wheeler. James is also survived by a group of extended family and friends: Richard Stevens, Ronald Washington, Kansas City, Mo, Edward Washington, and Jake Washington both of Bristow, OK. Bobby Washington of Tecumseh, OK, Ricky Stephens of SC, Versadeil Hughes of Bristow, OK, Edwina Dejear of Oklahoma City, OK., Betty and Leroy Washington, Ineil and Sheldon Williams of Bristow OK, Quincy and Dorothy Cooper of Kansas City, MO, Danisha Hart and Tiffany Hart both of Owasso, OK, LaRhonda and Christopher Whetstone of Atlanta, GA, Keisha Cooper of Kansas City, MO. James is survived by a host of other family members and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday February 12th, 2009 in the Trinity Baptist Church of Bristow. Reverend Eric Parker officiating. Interment will be in the Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Bristow, Oklahoma. Schumacher Funeral Home of Bristow is in charge of arrangements.
